The 80-passenger aerial tramway whisks you above timberline to the 4,200-foot summit for outstanding views of the White Mountains and into Maine, Vermont and even Canada. Take as little as an hour or as long as a day to enjoy summit walking paths, an observation deck, cafeterias, swimming at Echo Lake, boat rentals, a free eight-mile recreation path, “Old Man of the Mountain” Museum, and the New England Ski Museum.

The “Valley Train” offers departures to Conway and Bartlett, while the “Notch Train” carries passengers through spectacular Crawford Notch and past the finest natural scenery in the entire Northeast. On the “Valley Train” choose Coach, First Class or experience the fun of railroad dining aboard the Dining Car “Chocorua” (reservations suggested). The “Notch Train” offers Coach, First-Class and Dome seating (reservations suggested).

Enjoy a 2-mile self-guided nature walk through the Flume Gorge, a spectacular natural chasm. Along the walk you will discover covered bridges, amazing waterfalls, a scenic pool, and incredible mountain views. Kids can crawl through and explore caves along the way. The Visitor’s Center offers a free 20-minute movie on Franconia Notch State Park, information, gift shop, cafeteria, and interpretive exhibits.

All aboard for a 15-mile, 80 minute round-trip train excursion in vintage, restored coaches. You will travel in a picturesque, woodsy setting along the Pemigewasset River. Hobo picnic lunches & ice cream are available onboard. Open Memorial Day weekend through late October, and late November–mid-December for Santa Trains. See days of operation.
