  Canoeing & Kayaking

Looking to relax and have fun? Spend a day paddling or tubing along one of the region’s rivers and streams, or cruising one of the lakes.

Canoe touring or kayaking during medium or low water periods in summer can be enjoyed by almost everyone. A number of canoe shops in the area offer rentals and guided trips, and will generally transport your canoe/kayak directly to put-ins and arrange to pick you up at trip’s end; some shops also offer canoe camping options.

There are few other relaxing ways to enjoy a lazy summer day like tubing on the river. For tube rentals, contact local sports shops. Motorized and non-motorized boat rentals are also available for fishermen and others who wish to explore the region’s lakes, rivers and ponds. In spring, experience the thrills (and sometimes spills!) of whitewater rafting; guided trips are available for all experience levels.
